A letter from the CEO

To the Tupperware Sales Force,
As a company, our purpose is to nurture a better future. We believe we have the responsibility to help people, help communities – and help our planet. You have likely seen over the past year, we are making true progress to advance our commitment to helping the environment and using our position as an iconic and trusted brand to educate people on making better choices that ultimately have a positive impact on the planet.
March 22 marks an important global celebration called World Water Day. If you aren’t familiar, World Water Day is a day observed by the United Nations to highlight the importance of fresh water. When you think about Tupperware Brands, you think fresh. And when you think about the most popular items in our global product selection, our water bottles and drink containers are at the top of that list. I know for many markets around the world, our communities are honoring this day by giving back.
But we know giving back isn’t just about taking action on one day. It’s about embracing a culture of helping. One of our core values is we do what is right, and using our position to influence behaviors and to give back to people who need it most is doing what is right.
This week, I highlight two selfless sales force members in Malaysia – Faridah Begum and Noorazela Herman. These two women embody what it means to be compassionate.
Both Faridah and Noorazela (known as Nong among her friends) have been giving back to their communities financially during the pandemic. For months, Faridah has been donating her commissions earned through her Tupperware® business to the homeless community in the city of Kuala Lumpur. What’s more, she’s also donated products to the local transit center that provides meals and resources for homeless individuals in the city. She has got her eye set on certain sales goals in 2021 so that she can continue to give to the homeless and better the future for her local community.
Nong has also generously given back to her own community in Malaysia. Before starting her Tupperware business, she was a housewife living in a rural area of the country without an income. Once she started selling Tupperware products through her unique business plan, she grew her business into a monthly income. After not having any additional income, she now has been able to provide some additional financial support for her family, and she now manages a team of women whom are now able to provide some financial assistance for their families and themselves. Similar to Faridah, during the past few challenging months due to COVID-19, Nong has made donations to families in need, including to people living in welfare homes and frontline medical workers.
Thank you, Faridah and Nong, for being so caring. You make us proud! I know around the world, you all are doing great things for your communities. Even when times are tough, think about paying something forward. You never know when you may need that same compassion in return.
I want to hear your stories of giving back so please be sure to share with me on Facebook (@TuppCEO) and Instagram (@TuppCEO).
Stay safe and healthy,
Miguel Fernandez
